from the series based on sketches of people that fell asleep on the portland commuter trains. secret sketching is a rush...sometimes people catch you in the act, and they get incredibly weirded out. understandable. much easier to sketch people who are asleep.

this little cottonwood beetle was crawling around the picnic table at our camp site. he begged to be painted. i was obliged...in watercolor of course.

tiny tiles
these tiny tile paintings are little gems. they currently are in the form of fridge magnets, but wouldn't they be lovely necklaces? just the right size at one and a half inch by one and a half inch. the paint brush used to create these little treasures is a hoot, it has about five hairs! the tiles are salvaged from the rebuilding center here in Portland, Or. leftovers sometimes make the perfect canvas
